Well, we are still traveling and catching up with family and friends. However, that does not stop my telling people about Foamiran Flower making. While talking to a lovely lady at one of the hotels, she asked if I would post a short list of other sites .

Pearled White on Pearled White…

This was a one of the last cards I made for my mother a year ago. Thought I would share it with you today.

For the beautifully back-ground, I selected one of the Anna Griffin’s embossing folders. It really worked well with my favorite White Pearled cardstock. The detail imprint is extremely crisp … perfect for that slightly old-fashioned appearance.

The flower is Whimsy Stamps’ Lily die. Again, I used the White Pearl cardstock. I like the firmness of this type paper. When doing the shaping, it really holds the impressions.

Well, I really must get going. We are traveling and have the opportunity to visit my old college, now a university!  Have not been back since 1965!

Take care and may God Bless all of you.

Just A Little Old Fashioned…

As you may be aware, I love creating realistic-like foam flowers. This media is rather new to those of us in America yet it is a very active creative art form through-out the world. So far, I have found only one USA distributor who carries all the beautiful .6mm (.02”) colors and that is Whimsy Stamps out of Florida. If you know of others in the US, please let us know.

For this project, I used the new Lady E -  Flower 002 die and cut 4 layers of each petal from the Light Peach foam. I accented the petals with Versa Colors Old Rose and Bamboo.

As a rule, I like to keep my cards more conservative in layout, some say a little old fashioned. For me, I’m comfortable with that.

This week, I have the unique opportunity to meet with Sandy Parker of the FaceBook show “Crafting for Almost Everyone.” I have admired her talents and her presentations of such a wide variety of crafting projects. You really should take some time visit her site. She is impressive.

Sandy, this card is for you.

Thank you so much for dropping by. Hope you come again and see some of my newer challenges.

Till next time,

May God Bless You and yours

Something Different…

Thank you for stopping by today. I have something a little different than my normal flower to show you – yep, more flowers. Recently I ordered the Pretty Poppy stamp/die set from Stampendous.

This set not only has the stamp and “exact” die but also contains the mask of the stamps. I am really impressed!

First, using a bright white cardstock, I stamped the two flowers and 4 of the leaf design with Memento’s Tuxedo Black. I then embossed that with a Fine Clear embossing powder. The clear embossing powders are my favorite as you can apply it over any ink color.

For the flower coloration I defused Chameleon Color Tone VO4-Deep Violet with Color Top BV2-Lavender using a 6-10 count. For the centers and the leaves, I used Color Tones OL3-Olive Green with a 3-5 count defusing on the leaves.

When satisfied with the colors, I then lined the dies in place and was excited with the perfect cut. No white outlines.

Using a ball stylus, I hand embossed each piece and arranged them on my card.

Well, that is it for today. I now have some packing to do. We are finally going to take a long-awaited vacation. When we return, I hope to explore other areas of this fantastic world of card making.

Till then,
May God Bless You and Yours.

A Special Birthday…

Thank you for dropping in today. It is a fantastic day here in Michigan, especially for a special friend – she turns this week!

In celebration of our friend's exceptional event – I wanted to create a delicate and gentle flower.

For this flower, I again turned to an old favorite but retired flower die and cut 4 of each petal out of Ivory Foamiran.

Keeping softness in mind, I randomly applied Color Box's Parchment ink to the outer edges and Versa Color's Bamboo to the centers. (Doing both sides.)

The leaves are Lady E’s Leaves 003, cut out of Harvest Green Indian Batik Marble papers.

The flower center is Lemon Chiffon Prills.

The base card and top layer cardstock are Stardream’s Quartz. It has a slightly white-gold pearled appearance.

The middle layer is Gina K’s Dark Sage cardstock.

Hope this might inspire you to start creating Foamiran flowers.

So nice that you visited today. Sure hope you drop by again soon..

Till then,
May God Bless and Watch Over You.

A Green, Green Rose?...

Hi there!

Well, it has been awhile and I'm sorry for not posting anything. Getting ready to visit Mrs. Sandy Parker, you know, the lovely lady you see at Crafting For Almost Everyone. Can hardly wait.

Anyway, I had a few minutes to play the other day and decided to check out the Spellbinder's Simple Succulent die. Being a succulent, I naturally selected the Dark Green  Foamiran and cut two of each size petals.

My design thoughts started taking a new direction as I added the Versa Color Olive to the petals. So, I heated and scrunched each petal to form "rose petals."  As this unusual green flower came together, I sort of fell in love with not just the look, but that special real- feel of it.

Hope you like the look.

Oh, my. I forgot to post a few special Thank You Pins from a week ago.

Till next time - May God continue to Bless You...
